At Indie 102.3, we’re all about elevating Colorado-based music, musicians and experiences. One way we showcase local talent is through the Local 303, an hourly on-air feature to highlight Colorado music. Every month we select a group of Colorado-based bands and artists to be featured in the Local 303.
Manos Sagrados Mad
Cumbia Dance Party

Manos Sagrados is an arts and community space in the center of the Aurora Cultural Arts District, created by and for BIPOC, femme, 2SLGBTQ+ and disabled creatives. Their space functions as an entertainment venue and incubator, with performance space, a gallery space, and studios for art, movement, and recording. As artists and musicians, the team at Manos strives to create a safe space where creatives can share and create their work, in an accessible and affordable way. Manos Sagrados hosts a monthly Cumbia Dance Party on Final Fridays, as well as the only Latin music jam in the metro area on First Fridays!

Moon Magnet Silent Disco
10pm-12am @ Showcase Stage
Moon Magnet is a Denver-based music school, mastering studio, and DJ production company founded in 2013. What began as a house of bands became an artist collective creating surreal music videos, showcases, and installations at festivals like Desert Daze. We offer in-person music lessons on most instruments and help artists produce and release music in 90 days. Moon Magnet's launched projects like our cassette compilation Moon Magnet Volume IV and contributed to Meow Wolf Denver with soundtracks. We’ve had the honor of hosting unusual Moon Magnet showcases at UMS every year since 2013. Themes for previous years include Glitter Gush, Pool Party, and Legalize Skunks. Moon Magnet empowers artists to explore, create, and connect.

Hip Chicks Out

HCO Denver is a Denver-based queer event company creating inclusive, vibrant spaces for LGBTQ+ women and allies since 2005. What began nearly 20 years ago as a way for lesbians and queer women to safely gather at "straight" bars—through the now-legendary 2nd Friday happy hours—has grown into a cornerstone of the city’s queer culture. Today, HCO hosts one of Denver’s biggest annual Pride Parties, drawing over 1,000 attendees, and curates music festival showcases that spotlight LGBTQ+ artists. With community, visibility, and celebration at the heart of everything we do, HCO continues to redefine what queer nightlife and culture can be.

D3 Arts brings people together through art, music, and cultural celebrations, creating a space for individuals to rediscover themselves while fostering strong community ties along Morrison Road in the Westwood neighborhood. These events are open to all and encourage personal growth through shared creative experiences.

UMS Silent Disco with Retrofette & Bodies of Culture

Join UMS favorites and Bodies of Culture for a second night of Silent Disco! Bodies of Culture is dedicated to evolving the local music ecosystem to create a more equitable future for young artists and our peers by identifying and closing EID gaps and establishing a culture of belonging and solidarity. We are committed to supporting BIPOC youth in music participation and community programs that celebrate cultural identity and self-expression, understand the healing power of music, and empower musical self-discovery and exploration.

Presented by Youth on Record, this high-voltage, sun-soaked throwdown features a stacked lineup of YOR students, alumni, staff, and legendary musicians who ride with our mission. These are Colorado musicians getting loud for good — and are creating real impact with their art.
Come for the beachy vibes, family-welcoming energy, and the kind of lineup that makes you remember why Denver’s music scene matters.

Unit E Records is a Denver-based label and artist development hub that’s been supporting the city’s creative community since 2011. From underground concerts to vinyl releases, they’ve helped shape the next generation of Denver musicians through hands-on support, professional development, and accessible programming. They document the scene as it unfolds—pressing original music to vinyl so future generations can hear what Denver sounded like right now. Today, they continue to build bridges between local artists and national audiences while keeping the DIY spirit alive. Give it up for Unit E!
