Artist Commitment: UMS may be moving locations in 2026, but our commitment around artist compensation remains unchanged. The festival plans to carry forth an idea developed with Youth on Record during their time at UMS around “Thriving Artist Wages”. Our new partners in RiNo share the same values, and a large portion of their presenting sponsorship is specifically earmarked to go toward competitive pay for artists. UMS has worked hard to build a reputation for compensating artists fairly, even as festival economics have become more challenging nationwide. The RiNo BID’s investment helps stabilize the festival’s finances so competitive artist pay remains a priority.
